Things to know about grading-
Incompletes:
Students must complete 80% of all graded assignments (summative). Students who do not complete 80% of summative assignments will receive an “I” (Incomplete) for the course. Students have the remainder of the school year and summer school to clear an “I”.
Heards Ferry Homework Procedures
There will be no additional work assigned outside of the learning day.
Recovery
Students will be allowed to redo, resubmit, and/or retake summative assignments. If needed, students will be provided three opportunities to demonstrate their mastery of the learning target(s) beyond the original due date set by the teacher. Students will receive the score earned on the retake attempt. Retake scores will not be entered higher than a 70.
Grading Scales:
The following grading scale will be utilized if 50% of the marking period (semester) is spent in Remote Learning.
S – Satisfactory (Assignments numerical average of 80% or higher)
N – Needs Improvement (Assignments numerical average of 70% – 79%)
I – Incomplete (less than 80% of graded assignments were completed OR assignments average less than 70%)
If graded assignments average less than 70%, students should be given opportunity to redo/resubmit assignments
NG – No grade (enrolled less than 20 days)
